In Reply To: Thanks man. I was looking at Momentum. I hear it's real tough to get in. One recruiter told me Worldco got 450 resumes in a week. Would you give me any tips for the interview? Is it a high G.P.A and lots of extracurriculars they're looking for? Would it help if I got my 7? I'm interning with ProTrader right now and they might sponsor me for a seven. Any info is appreciated Traderdude. Good luck trading.
Message: Yes, the particular office I work at gets about 200 resumes a day. Even when I had been referred by my friend that trades there (he's been there for about 2 years), it took more than a week for them to get back to me to schedule an interview. I'd say though that you have to really display in your resume and interview the following: competitiveness, desire for success, ability to focus, willingness to accept responsibility and admit mistakes, desire to learn and grow, ability to thrive under pressure, and patience. A lot of the traders there have played college sports. Not all do though. One of their TOP requirements is actually -- "would I want to sit next to this guy?" Our traders are highly competitive, but also incredibly supportive. We're all out to help those around us learn and be successful. Basically -- try to find things in your life that show these traits. Be confident in the interview, but not cocky. I've heard that Momentum rarely hires traders from other firms, so be wary about taking the Series 7 beforehand. Honestly, that's not even something that's all that useful. Momentum sponsors you for the 7, 63, and 55, and they're all easy and fairly useless information-wise for the job. BTW, which city are you in Risc?
