I am about to start in a MS in Finance programme, and am aiming to become a trader upon graduation. For the experienced traders on this board, I humbly offer this question: are experiences among different areas of trading (foreign currencies, equities, etc) interchangeable? |

If you know how to trade you can generally swtich across product lines easily. Trading a different asset class is probably more complicated.
I.e., if you are an OTC market maker, the jump to listed rtading is easy. You could probably jump to other equity products as well (but why would you...?)
Moving from equity trading to bond trading, for example, is prob much more difficult. Different pricing, executions, risk, etc....
