"Brokers are the lifeblood of wall street." Hey dumbass who moves the markets? Is it your dumbass giving your broker (oh I forgot you probably are a broker talking yourself up) a 50 share order to buy some shit stock or is it a institutional client putting in an order to buy 3.5 million shares of stock that takes four days to fill because they do not want to move the stock up too much. Traders being drones? Are you kidding? Traders are the most important part of the process because they execute the big orders and hence make the big cash. I am at the top regional firm and not one trader with their own list make less than 200,000 a year. What percent of brokers make that type of money? Not to mention that the top 3 OTC market makers made 2.3, 1.6 and 1.4 million last year. What kind of broker makes that kind of cash? Maybe a hedge fund PM but that is a far cry from a measly piss-ant broker who is now telling their clients to buy CSCO because the stock is nearing a 52 week low. You need some formal education about the brokerage industry and I am willing to give it to you on this board. Go collect your food stamps. |

That has got to be one of the nominees for Most Laughable Lines of 2001. First of all, regional firms get no respect. You're either on Wall Street or you don't exist. Secondly, how pathetic is it that some traders at your firm only make 200K. At my firm by their second year out of college, our traders(re: 23 year olds) are already making double that.
Damn I shut you up good.
