I am two years out of undergrad from a state school and I am currently working at a major wirehouse as a financial advisor. I have aspirations of being an inst. saleman, and what is the best way to go about working on a desk? Is an MBA necessary, and how is Fordham's reputation on Wall St.? Any input would be appreciated -- Thanks |

Going from retail to institutional is tough...Your best bet is to target the smaller firms e.g. Stephens, Legg Mason, AG Edwards, etc.
An MBA can help but definitely won't write your ticket.
Can't comment on Fordham but there are plenty of people in institutional sales from state schools, etc.
