Before I ask question let tell you a little about me. I have a BS in industrial engineering and MBA in Financial Analysis from St. Xavier University in Chicago. With 2 yr. experience in commercial lending and investor relations. I have no trading exprience other than coursework and no series 3 or 7.
My situation is I have a junior trader position offered to me at a small institutional commodity trading firm. The pay for the first four months is sucks bad from my perspective. But they will sponsor me to sit for the series 3 and 7, then work on commitions. I don't know if i should take it or not? Also, what is the starting salary for the position in my case? |

If you're working on commissions you're generally a broker, not a trader. Commissions = Sales.
Traders are usually on salary with a performance based bonus.
Having said that, there are some trading positions that pay a % of P/L.
If you're willing to provide a firm name or at least them with a couple of their competitors if you don't want to give up the name someone might be able to provide additional info.
