there is still value to create in other equity products such as converts, equity derivs, other structured products, prop desks, etc. equity sales, i.e. listed/otc stuff is becoming less profitable |

There will always be opportunities in equities but the traditional equity s&t business model is dying, albeit slowly. If a firm has a niche, they will do well.
