If I were you I would jump on it in a heart beat...I once spent several months on a structured products (gas, crude and power) desk and learned more in those few months than I had in the previous year.
Fun and interesting? Most definitley interesting. Since you're coming from IB I think fun will be an understatement.
No, your future won't be limited. If anything you will have more opportunities than your colleagues in IB. |

No way, if you want the big money exit opportunities (senior management jobs, private equity, etc.) you WILL be worse off than your banking counterparts!
There may be "more opportunities," but DEFINITELY not more lucrative and well-paying ones.
