They are doing lots of swaps, equity monetization, trying to structure instrument to hedge things such as gas.
I also received an offer in biotech PE but that pays much less. So I was wondering if derivative traders was fun and interesting? Am I limited to only that in the future? or is it well recognized and versatile. Thanks again

If I were you I would jump on it in a heart beat...I once spent several months on a structured products (gas, crude and power) desk and learned more in those few months than I had in the previous year.
Fun and interesting? Most definitley interesting. Since you're coming from IB I think fun will be an understatement.
No, your future won't be limited. If anything you will have more opportunities than your colleagues in IB.
