In Reply To: I know that offers have already been made for many of next year's entry level training programs, but I've heard that after replies are received banks sometimes interview more people for remaining positions (similar to a college waiting list). Has anyone done this or heard of it happening. What's the deal/chances?
Message: Goldman FICC under hired in the normal period by something like ten. They used their entire analyst class from my school to recruit people who had the skills but may not have been a good fit. Listen to gastrader, talk to the new hires from all the firms. Keep on everyone, and try to find unposted positions. Those are usually the best ones. IMHO smaller is better. The best job I ever had sat me next to the sales director for North America. Every mistake I made, he shot back criticism. And next to him was the CEO, who usually did the same. Now I work for a 2,500 person company. I regularly sit down in meetings with the CFO and the CCO or CEO. I don't get to say much, but I get to watch and learn what the relationship is between you and your employees at that level. Never regret a job you didn't get.
