In Reply To: Hi- I recently received an offer with a consulting firm which I believe to be extremely low. My credentials are as follows: -MHA (Health policy & Mgmt) -approximately 3 years at top tier healthcare consulting firm; my salary was approximately $79,500 I received an offer for $75K-I know this is too low. What should I expect given my prior salary? Any helpful advice would be tremendously appreciated. Thanks.
Message: Unfortunately the way the job market is right now a lot of firms seem to be lowballing people with offers. Having said that I'm surprised they didn't match your previous salary, but maybe they feel they have come close enough by offering 75. Are you out of work right now, or leaving another company to potentially take this offer? You might have more bargaining power if you are in the latter situation.
