My job was eliminated in June. I have the fortunate circumstance of being offered two jobs and have to give an answer to both companies by this Friday. In the meantime, a company that has my ideal job opened, has shortlisted me for the job, but can't make a decision any sooner than two weeks from now. In addition, the ideal job pays 25% more and is in more desirable location.
Should I accept the best of the two, hoping that the ideal job/company comes through? It would mean starting at the new job only to quit a week or two later. As a hiring manager, I wouldn't like that, but what are my options?
