I've read before that some employers would consider giving a lump-sum pay raise.
For instance, if you currently make 50K, and you were getting a raise to 60K, you would get the 10K in one lump sum, instead of spread across the year.
Has anyone heard about this in practice, or had any experience with it?
I'm asking because my annual review is coming up in a couple months, and this would be very a very attractive option for me.

Warning! Lump-sum raise probably ALSO means your base salary, for the following year, will be a percentage based on 50 and not 60.
