Dude: stay in baltimore, 40k in baltimore is like 100grand in new york. inner harbor bars may not be greenwhich village, but your higher salary here won't match your life style in baltimore. Expect to be a slave, barely afford your apartment, and get dissed by uppity model types with no real career or education in the bars. new york sucks. i used to live in rural new england, made 30k/year, lived like a king and got laid whenever i went to a bar (okay so they were missing a tooth here or there, had pit hair, and went to community college..but it beats new york). |

I read your message and was somewhat discouraged! I am in the same position (kind of) as the guy who started this thread. I live in Chicago and am dying to live in NY.
I have lived in the inner city all my life, so I know that it will be expensive, but is it really as bad as you say?
Is it any help living in Brooklyn?
