In Reply To: Not sure exactly, but I know someone who was a sell side equity associate and left to go to Moodys with about 3 years of experience. I am pretty sure that they were making appx. 100K as an equity associate.
Message: as a former analyst at moodys (albeit in the public finance side), i can tell you the pay ain't great. good training and great hours, but pay wise 10 - 30% at least less than banks. people usually leave the banks to come to moodys for a better lifestyle and moodys folks leave for more money. entry level analysts make about $70 - $80K with 4% annual increases...promotion gets you about a $15K pop (vs the normal 4%), which happens with about a 3 year tenure. bonuses are crap there (ranging from $7K - $25K). but the hours are much better than with i banks.
