Has anyone thought of going to a consulting company for a job? They offer permanent and temporary placement. Many people look at contractors as they do people that have been at their jobs for 15+ years: like something is "wrong" with them. I'll tell you that contracting can be a great experience. It gives you flexibility and the opportunity to work with companies that you may not have been able to if you were permanent. When working with consulting companies you have more control. You feel more like you're picking and choosing the companies than them picking you. My recruiter simply asks me what enviornment I'd like to work in and my salary and "poof". They call with companies... ok maybe not poof but I get offers on jobs weekly... If contracting isn't your cup of tea go with a consulting company for a perm job.
