Topic Name: Is there a labor shortage in IT?

In Reply To: If there is a real IT labor shortage, why is it that less than 50% of University of California at Davis graduates get 'real' programming jobs (as opposed to help desk, testing jobs, etc)? and why are some big contracting firms laying off about 5% of their employees?
Message: I posted a message a couple of days ago, and as one is apt to do, used the apostrophy character ('). If you look at that message it is clear that they all came out as the question mark (?). What does this have to do with an IT Labor Shortage? Well, as proof that there IS NO IT LABOR SHORTAGE I offer this piece of evidence: this board must be maintained by cheap H-1B labor due to the problem I just stated. Quality American labor would not get away with being so sloppy. I have never worked around that type of sloppiness and I would jump up and down in complaint about it if I EVER saw another programmer being so sloppy. I guess there are lower standards for H-1Bs since they cost less. By the way - if you look - I have had to work hard to eliminate the apostrophy character (') in order to avoid that question mark business. It is really a disgrace.
