Advantech Solutions (Arlington Heights IL) is one firm that has consistently posted phony jobs on boards.
What they do is search for people BEFORE they target a potential client, build up some resumes, and then approach the business armed with a pile of talented people (via resumes) in hope they can sell the company some people. If the company doesn't buy then at least they have a pile of resumes for the future.
What a shady practice this is! |

Here it is from Sam for anyone who cares to note this unbelievable coincidence:
This thread was created to serve us IT contractors that all too frequently find agencies that collect resumes like closets collect dust. It's a common tale that many us tell. This serves as an early warning system. I'm not saying you shouldn't use agencies listed in this thread. What I AM saying is that you should not expect much.
These guys may use it as an asset to be sold and it's not unusual for recruiters to take info (including resumes) with them when they change jobs (frequently) and YOU get a call out of the blue from an agency you never heard of and perhaps don't want to deal with.
