In Reply To: He predicts the ??recovery?? may not begin until the 4th quarter. He??s not sure. This is the same guy that lowered interest rates 6 times in 6 months in a desperate effort to jumpstart the economy. Despite all the credit he has received over the last 8 years he has only so much power over the economy, and limited at that. He CANNOT make one company purchase from another. Many companies are feeling the pinch related to dot bombs, because these dot bombs go belly up leaving unpaid invoices, and reducing their vendor??s profit margin. This is today??s reality, not fiscal 2000. The economy, and corporate outlooks, are proceeding very similar to the early 1990s, and that was an employee bloodbath. I don??t know where you are seeing signs of optimism. They just aren??t there yet.
Message: HOPE I fail to see what is wrong with being optimistic in hard times? What do you suggest we all do? Give up and cry daily over something we have little control over? I prefer to forge ahead with the HOPE that things will improve no matter how long it may take. In the meantime we make the best of things. We take stock of the good stuff in life. Lay down and give up if you like, the rest of us will carry on and try to stop and admire the colors that are blooming all over the roads and in yards of Americans everywhere. A cold drink on a hot day. Shrimp on the grill. A comfortable bed to rest in at night all the other various creature comforts we are still enjoying. If I end up in a hut somewhere, then I'll make it the most amazing hut you've ever seen. There are always a few mangos to eat. Cheer up Bluebird and own up to your alias...you're supposed to be the Bluebird of Happiness, not the Vulture of death.
