??What I do different from HR people is that I do not leave my candidates side until they have a job somewhere. ??
So does this mean you are on the candidate??s side? You KNOW you can??t say that unless you get a commission from the candidate.
??give them leads to companies who don't even work with recruiters (which means there is nothing in it for me??
OK ?? that one was totally over the top, just plain self-serving bullshit. Give them leads leads to companies who don't even work with recruiters? Just self-serving bullshit.
??One of the more difficult sides to recruiting is dealing with candidates who think finding them a job is somehow our sole duty in life and if we aren't spending time on the phone with them everyday they get pissy.??
Well, there it is. YOU mislead them into thinking that YOU are on their side and when YOU don??t come through for them ??(but I do not dump my candidates, and I have actually become friends with many of them.) ?? they are going to GET prissy about it. What do you expect??? You mislead them and try to be their friend. You are not in business to be their friend and when you ACT like it you mislead them.
Recruiters just don??t get it: YOU CANNOT MISLEAD PEOPLE AND THEN THINK THAT THEY WON??T PICK UP ON IT OR HAVE A PROBLEM WITH IT.
