I wouldn't worry too much about this. I would seriously doubt that will be disclosed to someone checking references. To be perfectly honest it looks worse for the company, than for you.

Thanks for getting back to me. My next question is how I would answer the "Reason for Leaving?" question that are on some of the more formal application forms. As mentioned before, I had given thought to just putting "University Based Internship" or something of that nature, but once again face an ethical dilemma. I would really like to go down the right path this time.
