The previous response was like a breath of fresh air. Why? Because he/she was honest. There was no self-promotion by leaving some drippy message with their email address (just in case you want to contact them). Gee, that isn't FREE advertising is it?
This guy just tells it like it is. Good points about questions to ask a recruiter. I've long believed in that. You can tell within about 2 minutes if the recruiter is worth a warm bucket of spit. But, if HAVE to ask questions. That of course pisses them off because they expect YOU to answer question, not ask. Oh, so sorry!
You just have to be careful to screen out all the "Heathers" of the world. I agree with this guy's assessment. She's chasing a dream because her boss pumps her up with bullshit about how much money she can make. 25 year olds chase that carrot real quick. What we, the talent, have to learn is to NOT chase the carrot that Heather puts out in front of us. Heather needs to learn that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. And...if it's so easy to make 100K recruiting then EVERYONE would do it. Right?
Find the rare gems out there. Maybe they're worth it.

I was going to write of the Colonals posts as the rantings of some bitter mainframe programmer but for one thing:
He's absolutely right.
I meet these "Heathers" all the time. Many of them don't even have a clue about industry salary levels or technology. I love it when they try to be all "flirty" at interviews or job fairs. That may work for some of these pimple headed programmers who havnt been laid ever. Ill pick up my bimbos the old fashioned way, it a cheesy bar, thank you very much! The guys are worse. There's nothing that annoys me more than some idiot calling me out of the blue like I'm his long lost buddy and asking me "what's up!". (I'm looking for a good job with a good company, asshole! That's whats up!)
Headhunters are useless anyway. Think of it like this...If a company is so good, why do they need a headhunter? It's because
a) They are not attracting enough candidates to keep HR busy.
b) They are not big enough to have an HR staff and must outsource.
Your better off just trolling on the Monster board. Just ignore all the sharks and little shitty fish you haul in and focus on the big tuna!
