Does anyone have any tips for recent college grads (like myself) that are interested in applying to defense companies?
It seems to me that anyone that majored outside some type of engineering or a clear cut business concentration (eg. Finance or Accounting) has a lot more trouble getting hired. (I was an Operations Management in case anyone was wondering...) |

Yes any degree outside of Engineering or business makes it more challenging to get hired. Raytheon is a technology company with many employees being engineers or business folks. When I recruit on campuses I am particularly looking for engineers who can fill not only technical roles, but also various business roles.
