In Reply To: i'm an undergrad junior, and so far i think i have a fairly good grasp of what PG is all about, especially since everyone points out that it's pretty much an open book. with that said and done, here are my questions: 1) if i'm looking for an internship at PG for summer 2003, can i get it at locations such as NY, Chicago?... 2) can i land a marketing position at PG with a BA in economics?... especially when there are specific "marketing major" people? 3) don't really care about the pay for an internship, but what are my chances of getting an extended offer with a good performance? 4) i noticed that a lot of this was mentioned throughout the board, but no answers were given for undergraduates coming into PG... what is the base pay? even an approximation would be helpful... thanx. your answers will be greatly appreciated...
Message: As a former P&G Brand manager, I would tell you that getting into marketing as an undergrad is quite unlikely, unless you are from a TOP school and have top grades and lots of leadership activities. Sales, might be possible, however, and frankly I would go ANYWHERE they offered you if you were lucky enough to get an internship or offer! The major you have is not as important as the grades and leadership experiences you have on your resume, and can show how you made an impact on the organization or result. For the person who asked earlier about getting a job with experience but no BA - forget it in sales or marketing. Hope that is helpful.
