and i will have my mha (master's of health policy and administration). beyond that i have very little industry experience other than my internship because i went straight to grad school. thanks. |

All I can tell you is what I have heard from a few of my buddies who work in that arena. Most have industry specific background (either payor or provider).
There are a couple of large initiatives going on but I think that they are in other cities - not in Dallas. Kaiser, BCBS, Wellpoint.
People also rotate in and out of research related positions that are internal. Beyond that I don't know much. I assume though that you're packing a bag and hitting the road soon.
What did they tell you in your interviews? No matter what area you are hired into, you can pretty much count on the pull of your partner and your standing with him to equal 99% of where you go and what you do.
