In Reply To: If you want to OWN a house instead of renting an apartment, I don't see how a Big 4 salary will let you afford to do that. In many markets, a respectable house that isn't in the ghetto can cost over half a million dollars. I do think it's problematic when a career restricts you to living in the few cheap housing markets. Message: I don't see many people buying a house straight out of undergrad. By the time you make manager and have a two-income household, you can afford something much more than decent. Besides, why live in overrated L.A.?
