Topic Name: CPA needed in Advisory?
Message Name: Well of course

In Reply To: I am graduating with a degree in Information Systems and working in Performance Improvement starting this summer. I have absolutely no accounting experience and joined PwC for the wide opportunities in "consulting" under Advisory services on business process improvement, etc. My question: will I never go past senior associate without a CPA? I know of many other Information Systems majors (and other majors) who are graduating and working in Advisory but they aren't sure what the possibilities are after Associate.
Message: Believe me. There are more than them thar accountant types who work at PWC. PI is advisory. Advisory is a fancy term for us non-cpa types. If you have peers who are already employed by PWC as associates and they are unaware of how they move up the food chain, ask them if they have had a chat with their coach. Or at the very least, taken that god forsaken performance-whatever course.
