I have a question regarding the starting salaries at the Big 4. I'm interested in audit, and received an internship offer from KPMG recently based on a $41,000 base salary.
Now, I'm assuming that this base salary is based on the starting salaries of new hires. I live in California, a state where the cost of living is very high. After doing some online research and talking to a few recent hires, I thought this number was a bit low. The salary range for undergrads seems to me between 42,500 and 52,000. Now, I know that alot of this has to do with which area your go into (tax, IT, audit, advisory), but I was expecting a number somewhere close to at least $45,000. My questions are, is this a low number, has the recent trend been a decrease in salaries across the Big 4, and does the base salary used for internships differ from the actual salaries being offered to full time hires? I'm wondering if someone can share their recent experiences in regards to starting salaries from PwC. I just interviewed with them, and now I'm waiting for an offer. Any responses will be much appreciated! Thanks! |

Why do you think internships would pay the same as an actual associate position? That makes no sense! When I interned in California, last summer, my "salary" was a couple thousand underneath actual starting salary. Once you get your full time offer letter at the end of the internship, you'll realize that salaries are very much on the rise.
