I don't think interns get paid more than other new hires, though if you have a masters you should get a few more bucks than someone who doesn't.
As far as an advantage from having a masters, thats unclear. At least initially you will be doing the same work as someone who doesn't have a masters. How quickly you progress is up to you and the opportunities you are given and earn.
Local CPA firm experience may or may not matter, depends on what you did there. |

I appreciate your response buster. With New York's CPA requirement of 2 years experience, doesn't it seem like most entry level employees have only a Bach. degree and are looking to earn the experience for the CPA exam. Since Florida requires so many graduate credits, I decided to complete my Masters before I begin work in New York. I am hoping this gives me a better oppurtunity for an offer. I also will take most of the CPA exam before I even begin work, since I will have met these Florida requirements. With my graduate degree out of the way, and most of my CPA exam behind me, I feel I will have little to no distractions for work and allow me to put in the time and effort that I demand out of myself.
