I am currently finishing the last semester of my MBA and I plan on starting work this upcoming summer. I was an audit intern this past summer with a "Big 4" firm in the Stamford, CT office. I was given an offer for $55,000 plus $2,500 sign-on bonus to work in audit. I didn't get the impression that there was too much flexibility negotiating for a higher salary so I accepted the initial offer. I now feel that I was low-balled and that I could have gotten a higher starting salary. I was told that the policy for this firm is that the Stamford office and Manhattan office pay the same. I know that future raises are contingent upon starting salary so I want to start out as I high as possible.
1. Was I in fact offered a low starting salary?
2. Is there anything I can still do to get a higher starting salary with this firm?

I'm finishing up a Master's in Acctg. and I'll be starting in audit this summer in the NYC office at $57K plus $3K sign-on bonus. I'm not sure about negotiating for a higher salary as I didn't do it.
