Topic Name: Can internship be split?
Message Name: Look at it from PwC's POV

In Reply To: I'm considering an internship with PWC and another company and I am torn between the two. If I turn down an internship with PWC what are my chances of being able to apply full-time after graduation? Will it reflect negatively on me that I accepted an internship elsewhere and then wanted to come work full-time? The other thing I was thinking about was splitting the intership where I can work part of the summer with one company and the other half with PWC. By the way, the internship is IT related, not accounting. That is why I'm so confused. I want to see what kind of work I will be doing day-to-day since IT work can be a variety of things.
Message: Why would they let you split your internship? They have a limited amount of spots and even training you for the internship costs money and time. They could offer the internship to someone else who will be there the whole summer. As someone who runs the intern program for an advisory group in a major eastern city, I would say no to splitting the summer. It's already too short to get a good evaluation of the person. I'd rather take someone who wanted to work the whole summer. This is a hard decision for you but you are going to have to choose one or the other.
