In Reply To: TS hires the majority of its team as experienced hires. However, some of the associates come straight from undergrad. (TS only hires from select undergrad institutions). TS is comprised of the following groups: 1) FDD = 60% comprised of former auditors, 40% other backgrounds, which include = fmr consultants, i-banking,industry experts. 2) ODD = various backgrounds, including CPA, i-banks, etc.. This group primarily competes against other ops consulting houses like Bain, BCG. 3) Valuation = various backgrounds such as valuation exp (S&P), HLHZ, etc. While an MBA is no pre-requisite for advancement in TS, I've seen many people at the Director and Ptr level with top MBAs. as promotiion to partner in the group is very competetive, an MBA is certainly an advantage. Many people who join TS often get MBAs and either come back to TS or start a new career elsewhere. TS Cities = NYC,Philly,Chicago,SF,LA,Atlanta, Dallas, Houston (Maybe a few more elsewhere in the US)
Message: Thanks for the great response. Do you work in TS? Is that basically investment banking at a big 4? How would TS work compare to ibnaking? The hours/travel? Any info on salary/bonus? Is it basically the same as audit/tax?? I assume partners make the same as all the tax/audit partners? How about career path, how hard is it to get promoted.
