Travel and long hours are things you have to deal with if you are going to prosper. Not sure where you got the idea butt kissing is required. Find a nice quit job in industry with little opportunity for growth.

What's with the generalizations?
Also regarding industry, hopefully, a person doesn't spend their entire life at "the firm". Industry experience is invaluable and when you think about it, it's that + best practices = reasons that a client will hire us.
Or so I hear.
