What is PWC's policy on applying for Green Card ?
Would they do it immediately the individual joins the firm or do you have to wait for a specific amount of time?
Any insights would be appreciated......

Don't bank on getting a PwC sponsored green card immediately. Typically 12-18 months after joining is the norm and then with local and regional sponsorship.
In response to the post from deetsoi - if you mean an H-1 visa - then these are designed for non-US nationals who cannot be transferred from an overseas office, i.e. direct hires. The INS limits the number of these each year, so any organisation wishing to use this route has to take their chances in having enough available. I presume you are currently studying here under a J-1 student visa? If so, check with INS on whether you can undertake Intern work with it. You will need to confirm (if not already) that you are legally entitled to work in the US.
