In Reply To: I had the opportunity to offer my resume to PWC today, and I was struck by the immediate "we'll get in touch with you" response and lack of communication from the firm's rep. I approached the person enthusiastically, trying to share with her/him my longtime good rapport with PWC employees over the years and around the world at my previous employer. She/he did not seem to really want to engage. Does the firm exclude people right from the get-go? The only thing wrong I may have asked is what specific indsutries PWC works with in my town. It's not as though I were clueless about the firm, but region-specific info is hard to find. Any thoughts? I have always wanted to work at PWC, and I even told the gal/guy that I saved the best booth for last. However, when the rep from E&Y spends half an hour speaking to you and actually looking at your background, it's hard not to get a better impression of them.
Message: Everyone is tired after an entire day of recieving resume's and having to be polite and energetic. Here's a tip, don't wait until the end of day to meet the rep of your number one choice. Plus, how can you be upset at PWC from one snide remark made by one rep at a career fair? Make a follow up call, chances are they will not remember meeting you at the end of the day anyway and your resume will speak for itself when later reviewed.
