Just started the interview process and doing some comp-related research.
When does PwC usually announce their annual bonuses? When do they actually pay?

in September, just before payment on September 15th.
In Assurance, at the associate level there is not much to see, 0-6% of base. Senior up to 10% of base. Manager up to 25% of base. That said, those are top end, NOT the average.
The Assurance practice had higher numbers last year, but it was a one time deal.
Bonuses are for going above and beyond. Everyone has an expected amount of travel, OT, recruiting and PD. Bonuses are for those who exceed those targets. Additionally, they are correlated to your overall ranking, ie an average performed will not get the maximum pay out.
