In Reply To: PwC in Cali: Many thanks for your insight. Based on your and NYC's comments, I am most likely relegated to the not-top-choice group (it's been five business days since I interviewed, and no word yet). At least I haven't been completely eliminated yet. Only time will tell. In the meantime, I did have an additional question for anyone: if you interviewed for Assurance, for example, and don't get an offer, is it unheard of to ask your recruiter whether you could be considered for another area, such as Advisory? Also: if a candidate is rejected, what's the recommended route for trying again (e.g., through web site)?
Message: If you were among a small pool of candidates, and you are all equally qualified, that may be another reason for the delay. Also, like I mentioned earlier, it's different for each office. In terms of another line of service such as Advisory, I assume it will depend on their need for that office. Did you send a thank you note to your interviewer or kept in touch with anyone you met during your interview? I'm a newbie myself so I'm not too sure what the norm is about seeking other areas. I would imagine that it wouldn't hurt to do so. I would recommend that you keep in touch with those that you met at PwC and with your recruiter and show them that you are interested. Seniors and recruiters out there, any input in helping Cali592 out? Best!
