depending on what you want to do...ive heard stories of people moving laterally into hedgefunds (internal control, fund accounting) or the same type of role at a BB bank, but to switch careers like moving into IBanking its going to be a long shot, ive been trying...i am told and i hear the same thing over and over again....go to Bschool then re-evaluate your options...but like i said it depends on what you are looking to do after your two years... |

I guess it's more about diversifying one's experience. I'm not in this position yet, I'm just asking with curiousity. IB is one area of interest, but I would never consider a lateral into an analyst role. Going after an MBA makes a lot more sense to me.
My main question is how difficult is it to move after 2 years, period? Whether one is interested in internal audit somewhere or finance.
