In Reply To: Don't worry too much about leaving after a short time. Typically the big 4 firms are respectful of people's decisions - keep in mind this is not the first nor last time they will see this situation. It is always difficult for the firms when they lose good people. However, it is very important for the firms to maintain positive relationships with alums. The business world is a small place!! And re the 2 weeks - don't even worry about it. Just tell the right people (your coach & partner counselor), handle it professionally and honestly, and you will be ok. Best wishes to you (fyi...in case you're wondering, i am a sr manager at PwC)
Message: First, drop off your resignation letter in person to your groups HR contact. State your desired departure date so that the firm can be flexible with you. After handing in the resignation, talk to your mentor/relationship partner. The firm will keep in touch with you through mailings and the like. They do keep an active alumni network.
