I've heard hearsay that many pharm companies fire new recruits during technical traning if that new recruit is not learning fast enough. Does anyone know the validity of this statment? Does it happen often?

As for inappropriate behavior such as getting drunk and doing something that is in poor taste while in your inebriated condition. Though I've never personally witnessed it, and have been through the grueling training process (tough for me on the sales training stand point not so much product knowledge), I've heard of reps being fired because of inappropriate behavior and only rarely due to failure from exams or training evaluation. Many training modules come with a lot of help so you can pass. Remember, the pharma company spends a tremendous amount of $ just to get you hired and to training - last thing they want is to throw that out and have to start from scratch.
