In Reply To: I'm not sure how great of a role recruiters / staffing agencies play on the science side of biotech (I'm on the business side). I know scientists who have gotten offers through recruiters and scientists who have gotten positions through internet postings. It certainly won't hurt you to talk to some recruiters and send them your CV. It sounds as if you're a recent graduate(?). I would suggest using your alumni networks to find contacts in the industry. I've found most people more than willing to talk and recommend others for you to talk to. That's how I got my first job in the industry. If you're willing to go anywhere on the east coast, you have at least 3 good options -- Boston/ Cambridge, Philly / Jersey, and North Carolina. I do think it's worth the time to go through listings of every company in each area (try www.biospace.com for all areas or www.massbio.org for Boston) and look at each company's job listings. It may be a low percentage strategy, but there are so many companies in these areas that you may have a shot. Good luck!
Message: I just graduated from Cittone Institute Center in the Philadelphia, PA. I am trying to find a job that fit my skills. I want to work in the Philadelhia, PA or the Pennsylvana area too. Please let me know. Sincerely, JaDeine L. Vann
