I just graduated from with my M.S. degree and am interested in working in the pharmaceutical industry. Can anyone give me any pointers for an effective search. Thanks for your help.

I'm assuming that you want to work as a scientist?
If so, here are some suggestions:
1) Job Fairs. Biospace (www.biospace.com) sponsors job fairs around the country. If you're in Boston, the Mass. Biotech council does too (the job fair is this wednesday actually)
2) Internet postings. Look at biospace, or massbio or a similar site for the area you want to work in. they list biotech / pharma companies in the area. look at the job postings for each
3) Look for biotech pharma / biotech recruiters / staffers. There are a lot of them. some will be listed on the websites above, or you'll find them if you do a simple google search.
these are not the best ways (networking is), but this should get you started. what area do you want to live / work in? There are signifcant concentrations of companies in Boston, Jersey/Philly, Northern California, and Research Triangle, NC.
Hope this helps.
