If you live within a 3-hour commute to New York City - Disaster Management Assistance Team-NY4 (DMAT-NY4), a response team under the National Disaster Medical System, is recruiting Pharmacists and Registered Pharmacy Techs for disaster response. These are paid positions upon deployment and missions usually last 7-10 days, sometimes in austere conditions. The team consists of members from all health professions. Deployment for every disaster is not mandatory, however if you do commit to deploy you are covered under the Federal Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA0 and a letter will be provided to your employer. There is mandatory online training pre-deployment. It takes one or two months for the federal prosessing of your application.
