I agree about doing your work better than anyone else will have you leading the pack, but if you were to work hard just to get yourself there, this is only a short term solution. Unless of course, you plan to amass your fortune and retire early.
Working so hard for the sake of getting to the top will only get you there, but not sustain you at that position.
at that time, you'll probably be thinking what else is there to climb. What will keep us going forever is loving what we do.

Jimmy, loving what you do helps. I can't imagine doing any job without being able to get totally engrossed in it. As for the previous post about working hard, I know a lot of very hard workers and that is not enough. You have to have the skills in order to progress onward and upward. Of course if you have the skills, work hard and love what you're doing, you've got it made.
