In Reply To: not to get to invovled in the Star Wars and Fantasy realm. Your questions and your posting name straight out of a fantasy novel series tends to make me think that you are more likely going to stay in the back room scheduling other people than moving up the ladder. The key is to simply have the desire and chase it like there is nothing else. Every year I do well at my job and move closer to making it up the ladder not because I am smarter than others or more proficient at my job but because I want to and will work harder than anyone you can find to get the job done and done right. Also, get your nose out of the book and make friends. Hell, I noticed that everyone I worked with plays golf so I took it up three months ago and am now an avid golfer. Good Luck Rahl
Message: I agree about doing your work better than anyone else will have you leading the pack, but if you were to work hard just to get yourself there, this is only a short term solution. Unless of course, you plan to amass your fortune and retire early. Working so hard for the sake of getting to the top will only get you there, but not sustain you at that position. at that time, you'll probably be thinking what else is there to climb. What will keep us going forever is loving what we do. cheers
