It's interesting how the "old fashioned" ways, i.e. working for real, almost seems to have been circumvented (at least in thought if not practice) by by a requirement or need for certifications.
As an IT Pro of 22 years I can tell you that the cert means very litle to me (shoot I haven't even had time to go get one). Almost every invidual on my team planning to get a cert simply find the quickest and esiest means to pass the test and that's it. period. I had one guy on my team that must have every popular cert under his signature. When he sets up to have 4/5 days off I always ask what cert he's going to come back with?
RWE; Real World Experience. Someone else actually paid you money for your skills (for a resonable length of time and can/will provide decent referal)?? That's rocking my world in a good way!
