I have one related question:
I'm a law graduate but I've been programming ever since I was a kid just for the hell of it. I want to keep this a hobby- but I'm wondering how I can symbolize this tech/software dev experience in my cv? my knowledge is c/asm on a rather advanced level. mostly online game projects, successful, but nothing commercial. nevertheless i have a very thorough understanding of how professional software works internally, what it can and cannot do and since i would love to get into consulting, being able to display this as an asset would help.
Any ideas? |

Your message is confusing, do you "want to keep it as a hobby" or would you "love to get into consulting?" If you're looking for a job as an attorney I doubt that programming games as a hobby is going to help on your cv. If you feel the need state that it's a hobby, which is what your experience is regardless as to how good you think you are or may even be.
If you're looking to get into consulting and not practice law, what type of consulting are you looking to practice? If you want to get into the corporate world i.e. make steady money, having programmed some games on the side isn't going to impress anyone. You will need some real commercial experience. If you're looking to develop games, why the heck did you go to law school? I think you need some career guidance!
