Jones is direct and that's his trademark. However, you should NOT get lost in his attitude and it looks like you did.
The fact is that he's right. This is 2002 and the job market has totally changed over the last 2 years.
FACT 1: we are in a recession.
FACT 2: the unemployement rate just hit a 7 year high.
FACT 3: our business really IS overrun by H1b visa holders.
I don't know what you do but I really am a consultant and I can tell you that the market is pretty tough right now. I don't know what you expected but this area you are in is "Operations & IT Consulting" so these are the kinds of things that affect those of us in this field.
I think you may have been expecting some rose colored answer, but you need to take a serious look at the current state of the job market and how the hiring process works. If you want to discuss with the real IT people who are in the trenches then you're in the right place. Some of us don't have time to educate IT wannabes. |
