As CIO for a large organization in Eastern Canada with an MBA(specialization in IT), I am considering a career change - time for a new challenge.
I want to continue to live in Eastern Canada however the market for my skills and experience in this area is limited.
I am interested in working for one of the major firms that can bring in the types of challenges (ie. outsourcing, IT strategy, contract negotiation, major procurement management projects etc) that I am interested in pursuing.
Is it realistic to maintain your residence from areas such as Eastern Canada?
I have easy plane access to the US market place(especially cities in the mid & north east Atlantic) as well as western Europe. I also have full broadband access for video conferencing when a site visit is not necessary etc.
It seems that all the major consulting firms want their staff to live in a major US city. Do you know of exceptions? |

Of course we want you! So what that you will take a job from an American. Hey - this is a "Global Economy" right?
I'll tell you what: How about you take an American job and I take a Canadian job? Will that work with you?
Let's do even better than that: you tell me of some Canadian companies that want Americans to come and take jobs there and I will tell you of American companies here that want you.
So - what do ya say???
