In Reply To: American workers, too, have felt the frost. "There was a definite split," says Linda Nesheim, 49, a computer-programming contractor who was let go last month from Fingerhut. Since early last year, the number of American computer contractors at Fingerhut has fallen 20% to 80, the company says. The number of H-1B visa contractors has stayed at 68. Fingerhut rejects the notion that it is letting American workers go because H-1B visa workers are less expensive, "No on was targeted," Fingerhut spokesman Ben Saukko says. No lower priced H-1Bs let go, only Americans. Anyone out there believe Ben Saukko other than his mother and/or boss? Please verify this for yourself and read other comments by your fellow Americans.
Message: Keep knocking H1B's. When you wind up in the hospital & there aren't enuf nurses to care for you properly, you'll have only yourselves to blame.
