I have been looking at making a career change for awhile now. I have a background in sales/marketing with alot of dabbling in the IT field. I was a client project manager for a Y2K SAP coversion and loved it! I am trying to make a career change to Project Managment. My question relates to the need for travel in the IT consultancy area. I do not want to travel at all. I have a 8 month old son at home and I want to be an active parent.
Are there any consulting firms which do not have travel? Should I look to a differnt area maybe? Is project management the best crossover path?

I have been in SAP Consulting 3 years and I have thinking of dropping SAP and doing sales ?
Why are you , or anyone, leave sales ?
The outlook and versility of sales seems much better...
